The name Brenton, as in Brenton at Glenridding Ravine in southwest Edmonton, is derived from an ancient Celtic word for high place. It’s a fitting name for a new community offering an elevated state of living.

Developed by Anthem United, Brenton at Glenridding Ravine is one of Edmonton’s newest communities, set above the Whitemud Creek Ravine at 28th Ave S.W. and Rabbit Hill Road. It’s a high-value area, with just 123 limited-release lots available to new home buyers and three industry-leading builders working to create a very special neighbourhood.

“Brenton is exclusively residential, which provides an elevated sense of peace and quiet,” says Kevin Backus, development manager of Anthem United. “It strikes a balance between the tranquility of nature and the convenience of urban amenities.”

This ravine community will have front garage homes by Jayman Built and Coventry Homes that are 1,797 square feet to 2,664 square feet in size, with the buyer’s choice of either a zero-lot line or traditional lot. Of the exclusive 123 lots, more than 20 per cent back onto the Whitemud Creek Ravine and every lot is within a five-minute walk of ravine access. Some front-drive lots also have a back lane — a rare find in today’s new communities, Backus says.

Pacesetter Homes is building 1,348 square foot to 1,385 square foot townhomes, many of which are across the street from one of the larger parks. Green spaces and a trail network connecting the community to yet another park along the bank of the ravine will complete this intimate neighbourhood.

Anthem United has also proactively installed upgraded power service in anticipation of solar panels, electric car chargers or increased demand due to air conditioners or basement suites.

“This is outside the norm and will save homeowners costly conversions in the future,” Backus says. “Our builder partners are future proofing this community.”

As a small enclave within the larger Glenridding community, Brenton at Glenridding Ravine is close to the City of Edmonton’s future District Park South Campus, shopping at Glenridding Landing, the Currents of Windermere, two nearby recreation centres and designated schools. Glenridding also has two sites for a future K-6 school and a senior high school.

To visit the show homes, take Rabbit Hill Road south to 28 Ave S.W., turn left and follow the signs. Check the builder websites for the latest visiting guidelines.
