Experience the best of south Calgary in connected and family-friendly Belmont

One of the newest additions to the city’s south end, the community of Belmont offers residents unprecedented connectivity to everything they could want or need.

The 113-hectare (280-acre) community developed by Anthem United launched in 2018, with a “new beginnings” motto to attract first-time buyers, newcomers and growing families and includes an array of home products and neighbourhood features.

Located kitty corner to Silverado and west of Macleod Trail, Belmont is bordered by 194th Avenue, Sheriff King Street, and the recently completed 210th Avenue, making it one of the most accessible communities in Southwest Calgary and linking it to amenities along Macleod Trail, Shawnessy Village, Silverado Shopping Centre, the Gates of Walden, while providing fast access to Stoney Trail.

The area is also a hop and skip to Township, a regional shopping centre now underway. Township will include a Sobeys and numerous retails stores and restaurants.

Only slightly further afield are Cranston and Seton’s amenities, as is the vast natural bounty of Fish Creek Provincial Park. Plus, the Belmont playground is a favourite among both residents and visitors.

Belmont will appeal to those who want a vibrant, upbeat, family-friendly community.

The developers have taken special care to create a neighbourhood that encourages active and healthy living, where residents feel like there are places to go and things to do.

The unique Belmont Mounds of Fun Playground is complete, engaging children — and kids at heart — through its multiple sections designed for different age groups and sensory levels. Belmont will eventually be home to five playgrounds and 16 hectares (40 acres) of parks, a pond and pathways, all linking the community together.

Future amenities will include a City of Calgary recreation centre, a school, a neighbouring high school and playing field.

Already a quick commute on major routes, Belmont is also located 500 metres from a future C-Train station.

There’s something for everyone, from first-time buyers to move-up families, at numerous price points, including townhomes by Anthem Properties, Streetside Developments and Homes by Avi starting from the high $200,000s; paired homes from Homes by Avi starting in the mid-$300,000s; laned and single-front drive homes from Jayman BUILT and Morrison Homes from the mid-$300,000s, and double front-drive homes from Cedarglen Homes, Homes by Avi, Shane Homes and Trico Homes starting from the low $400,000s.

There are plans to develop a commercial site in the future, too.

Belmont will build out over the next seven to 10 years, with a total of 2,000 homes and about 6,500 neighbours. There are currently 300 families living in the community.
