  • Eric Carlson
    CEO

    Eric is the founder and CEO of Anthem and CEO of Anthem United. Highly engaged in the daily operations of the company, he is responsible for the strategic direction and overall execution of all aspects of the business.

    Working closely with the leadership team, he provides (relentless) oversight and direction for acquisitions, design, development and finance. Showing up every day for 26 years, he is fuelled by the passion and pursuit of creating original spaces and building strong communities.

  • David Ragland
    Vice President, Land and Development, Sacramento

    David provides key oversight and management of the acquisition and entitlement efforts of Anthem United’s projects in California, as well as the residential home building operation. With over 20 years of experience, he has established himself as a leader in the industry and has extensive expertise in Northern California development.

    In his spare time, David serves on the Board of Directors for HomeAid, and according to his team in Sacramento, he is a perfectionist. If a light switch cover is 1/16 off center, count on David to notice.

  • Dylan Hunchak
    Vice President, Land Development, Edmonton

    Dylan is responsible for overseeing the development of our Edmonton-area land developments. With a background in civil engineering he’s got an impressive resume in both land and home development in Alberta.

    Dylan is known for leading teams to deliver beyond their own expectations and we love that he loves pioneering new communities. When he’s off the clock he’s a camper and a quadder and full time Saskatchewan Roughrider fan.

  • Shannon McKenna
    Controller, Development Accounting, Calgary

    Shannon has been with Anthem United’s Calgary office for 27 years.  She oversees the accounting land team, and is in charge of preparing the divisional project forecasts.  She has been involved with the development of more than 20 communities in the Calgary region.  Despite the fact she’s a seasoned pro, she still looks forward to the new challenges her position offers.  When she’s not at work, Shannon has another full time job at home, looking after three amazing teenagers.

  • Gerry Barron
    Director, Corporate Development, Calgary

    As Director of Corporate Development, Gerry is leading the charge on development projects and providing key oversight on land acquisitions and municipal approvals. With the company for 26 years, he favours the design and creation of new communities and the complexities of structuring real estate deals. He’s also affectionately known as the office historian. In his off time, Gerry prefers to ski—on water during summer and snow during winter.

  • Bob Faktor
    Vice President, Land Development, Calgary

    Working together with the other members of the development team, Bob’s expertise is in sourcing and pursuing acquisitions, navigating projects through the approval/entitlement process and oversight of the planning development, construction and sales aspects of Anthem United projects in the Calgary region. Celebrating his 16th anniversary in 2018, he enjoys the cohesive team spirit and agile nature of the company. Bob is known to decompress through the art of fly fishing.

    Director, Land Development, Calgary

    As Director of Land Development, Paul handles acquisition, entitlement, construction and sale of projects across Alberta. With over 12 years of tenure, he is a well-established member of the Anthem United team. He is inspired daily by the multidisciplinary approach and entrepreneurial spirit of the company. When he is not overseeing development projects, he is a proud board member of two non-profit organizations—Delta Waterfowl and ALUS Canada.

    Director, Corporate Accounting, Calgary

    Responsible for financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting and special projects, Nicholas is Director of corporate accounting at Anthem United’s Calgary office. With the company since 2014, he is motivated daily by the passion of his colleagues and strong team atmosphere. He is an avid traveler and global citizen.

    Director, Real Estate Finance, Calgary

    As a key member of the Anthem United finance team in the Calgary office, Trevor is responsible for sourcing debt and equity and building financial models for new projects. He has been part of the Anthem United team for 9 years, and carries extensive industry experience. He has the rare ability to distill a complicated pile of data into a comprehensive and easy-to-understand analysis. A lover of travel, Trevor has been to 23 countries and counting.

    Development Manager, Calgary

    Working together with other members of the land development team, Steven manages projects through the planning and approval process, construction and builder lot sales. With a unique vision for community building and a background in sales and marketing, Steven is able to develop lasting relationships and create meaningful connections with contractors, consultants and builder partners. He enjoys the diversity and challenges that encompass land development in the Calgary Region. Away from the office, Steven is a volunteer board member at Kids Up Front, a non-profit group that provides children with otherwise inaccessible life-enhancing experiences.

  • Brady Morrice
    Development Manager, Calgary

    Brady joined Anthem United in 2018, bringing with him a decade’s worth of experience in land development and a Master’s degree in Real Estate Development. Along with the development team, he manages our Calgary projects during the planning and approvals process through to construction and sales.

    Brady knows the secret to being a good co-worker: always make more coffee if you’ve finished it. On the weekends, he’s been known to put in some solid downhill mountain biking sessions followed by his favourite time of the day – Happy Hour.

    Manager, Sales and Marketing, Edmonton

    Simona manages the marketing department of our Edmonton office, including community brand development, print/online advertising, website development, signage and events. She is energized by the people she works with and the diversity/challenge of her role. Each day is different from the next, presenting unique and exciting challenges. A lover of the outdoors, she spends her off time camping and hiking in the backcountry of BC and Alberta.

    Director, Land Development, Edmonton

    As Director of Land Development, Joe works closely with our Edmonton-based development team to develop project plans, produce detailed drawings and manage the approval, financing, construction, sales and maintenance aspects of projects. With the company for over 9 years, his favorite part of the role is being involved in creating a legacy within the City of Edmonton. An avid hockey fan, he enjoys collecting autographed cards and memorabilia.

    Controller, Development Accounting, Edmonton

    Angele has been working at Anthem United for 27 years.  She is responsible for preparing the monthly financial statements and monthly cash flow for the Edmonton office.  In that time, Angele says she has seen the markets go up and the markets go down, and she is proud that Anthem United continues to be so successful.

    When she’s not at work, she’s often sees double.  Not only does Angele have an identical twin sister, she and her husband have twin (fraternal) daughters.

    Project Manager, Edmonton

    Scott brings with him more than a decade of land development expertise to our Edmonton team. He is responsible for the overall on-site civil construction activities, including coordinating trades and delivering projects on schedule and on budget.

    Scott is a proud to be a North Side Edmontonian. He also loves spoiling his niece and nephew.

    As manager of land acquisitions & entitlements, Brendan finds land and converts property into incredible places to live, work and play. He’s a rare breed who loves the work and the people he encounters along the way.

    Brendan is on a lifelong crusade in California, driven by an insatiable fascination with the experience of place, the delicate challenges of the public forum, and the financial complexities inherent to the real estate development game. This spirit propels his self-determined quest to lead Anthem United Sacramento into the urban core.

    Director, Operations, Sacramento

    As Director of Operations for our California team, Matt provides oversight and management of the operational aspects of home building, including design development, purchasing, construction and warranty. With the company for over 5 years, Matt thrives on the team atmosphere and is motivated daily by his colleagues. He enjoys being part of building the best homes in Sacramento. In his off time, he coaches a softball and basketball team.

    Director, Sales and Marketing, Sacramento

    Meg oversees the marketing and sales programs for the homebuilding side of our California operations and has a wealth of Sales and Marketing knowledge.

    She describes herself as a natural salesperson even though she started her professional career with a degree in Criminal Justice. Her plan was to become the next Magnum PI. Sales isn’t too far off…

As a new member of the team, she is energized and motivated by the working culture of the company—working together to achieve their collective goals and having a great time doing it. Though her work persona is unfailing gregarious and extroverted, she tells us she is very shy person.

    Project Manager, Sacramento

    Patrick is responsible for the overall management of the projects in California.  This includes obtaining the proper permits from three levels of government, making presentations to different agencies, formulating strategies and conducting complex negotiations, all in a timely manner.   If you are wondering if he’s capable of completing all of that, take note, Patrick has an identical twin.  Hmmm….

    Director, Project Management, Sacramento

    As Director, Project Management in Sacramento, Mike works with the team to expand our land acquisition and project management capacity to ensure our continued growth in California. He has a vast amount of experience in both land entitlement processing and project management and is a registered civil engineer.

    While Mike’s current role has him focused on life on the ground, he’s since accomplished his childhood dream of learning to fly an airplane solo.

  • Kevin Sheley
    Manager, Construction, Sacramento

    Kevin provides key oversight for all construction operations for Anthem United’s California division. In addition to managing construction activities, he is also responsible for managing the customer service that interfaces with customers on a daily basis. He is constantly challenged, engaged and excited by working with a group of strong performers. Although he has successfully managed construction of over a thousand homes with budgets in the millions, building a tree fort for his kids seems to be a level of complexity that is just outside his skillset.

    Russ works within the California development team as Development Manager. He is responsible for contracting and managing all land development and construction activities at Anthem United. Holding the position for almost 3 years, collaboration with his talented colleagues is what drives him to succeed each day. For better or worse, he is a die-hard 49ers and Giants fan. We keep a steady supply of kleenex in the office, given this simple fact.

With the company for 3 years, he loves the team atmosphere and the talented and passionate people that he works with. His licensure as a Civil Engineer gives him a unique perspective and valued insight into the company’s development projects.

    Manager, Land Acquisition and Disposition, Sacramento

    As Land Acquisition Manager, Todd handles sourcing new land acquisition opportunities for both land development and homebuilding operations in California. He is also responsible for project feasibility, due diligence, land disposition and overall project management. A new member of the team, he thrives on being surrounded by highly talented people, the overall team approach to projects and the “good enough never is” approach to customer service. A keen family man, Todd is the proud father of twins.

    Director, Finance and Accounting, Sacramento

    Brian is the Director of Finance and Accounting for Anthem United in California. His core responsibility is the acquisition of finances and allocation of funds, and the associated reporting/tracking thereof. A strong proponent and instigator of Anthem United company culture, his favorite part of the job is the camaraderie and strong team atmosphere. And despite his best efforts to hide his people and IT skills, his co-workers know where to find him when they have an issue.

    Controller, Sacramento

    As Controller, Marisela oversees all of the Operational Accounting functions for both land development and homebuilding in California. She’s a leader who works hard to help her team accomplish their goals and always emphasizes that everyday is a new day to do something great!

    In her personal time, a perfect day would consist of a walk along the ocean with her husband and dogs or watching her son’s basketball game. While she says the highlight of her career so far was joining Anthem United, her life highlight was becoming a mom.
